Incident Description:
On June 2, 2021, MSN reported an explosion at a grain elevator in New Ulm, Minnesota.
The New Ulm Fire Department and the New Ulm Police Department were dispatched to the scene at 6:37 p.m. in response to reports of an explosion. One witness who called a local radio station said that the blast was powerful enough to shake their car.
They found that the explosion had damaged the elevator and injured one person, who was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Crews were on scene for approximately four hours.
The incident is under investigation by the New Ulm Fire Department and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office.
