Incident Description:
On February 18, 2021, Zeit Online reported an explosion and fire at a plastics manufacturer in Kerpen, Germany.
A spokesperson for the Kerpen Fire Brigade said that there had been a dust explosion in the company’s workshop. A fire broke out, but it was immediately extinguished by the sprinkler system.
According to MSN, one employee was seriously injured and flown to a hospital. Emergency doctors examined three other employees who had been present when the explosion occurred, but they did not suffer any injuries.
